Properties
Our nanocells provide the first means to deliver drugs on a three-dimensional scaffold which is sufficiently small to have broad bioavailability as well as to have the ability to target specific organs. Nanocells have a number of basic properties that make them ideal for biomedical applications:
- Size: 5-100nm
- Self assemble in a one-step process
- Water-soluble (improve solubility of attached substances)
- Multivalent
- Heterogeneous
- Stealth
- Immunoreactive
- Cross the blood brain barrier
- Eliminated through renal clearance
Ligands
The multivalent nanocells can be manufactured with a broad range of molecular attachments:
- Peptides
- Antibodies
- Neurotransmitters
- Carbohydrates/Lipids
- RNA/DNA
- Antibiotics
- Anti-cancer agents
- Existing pharmaceuticals
Advantages
Using our nanocells as drug delivery scaffolds provides a number of significant advantages for the pharmaceutical industry, including:
- Reduced toxicity of known drugs
- Rejuvenation of stalled drugs
- Reduced dosage of known drugs
